Adobe Design Awards
Sunday, January 6th, 2008In November 2007, Neutone was contracted to develop a data management solution for the administrators of a the Adobe Design Awards. This competition was aimed at university and techical institutions to inspire young designers to use the Abobe tools to create the best design piece in their category, and stand a chance to win all kinds of software from Adobe for their institution.
Working in collaboration with a South African multi media company, Canadian designers and German flash developers, Neutone’s task was to develop a robust, multilingual, open source solution for the competition entrants.
Features :
The entire site, needed to be in 7 different languages, including Japanese and Korean.
Each entrant could create and manage their own profile of submissions, and uploaded submissions could reach up to 60MB , including video footage.
There needed to be an XML Flash gateway for the data, developed for the German flash developers to allow them to use a dynamic front end display showing the progress and content of the submissions to all, as they came in.
